Jennifer Bianca Weerasinghe, Club General Manager
Jennifer joined the NYTC team as a tennis instructor in 2018. Jennifer has been involved in the tennis community for more than 15 years; she competed at the provincial level, where she trained at Casey Curtis Tennis Academy at Mayfair Clubs and Richmond Hill Lawn Tennis Club in the high-performance program. Jennifer pursued her Tennis Canada teaching certification and then began her career at the NYTC. Tennis has always been a central part of her life.
During her time at the NYTC, Jennifer has held a number of different roles, including Tennis Instructor, Coordinator of Junior Programs, Team Lead and most recently, Manager of Junior Programs. Jennifer has overseen the junior summer camp, after-school program, court monitoring, hiring process, payroll, house league, maintenance, private lessons and has assisted with running and supporting socials. Through her time at the NYTC, Jennifer has enjoyed getting to know the membership and being a part of a tennis club with a rich culture of community. Jennifer looks forward to continuing to contribute meaningfully to the ongoing success of the NYTC.
Jennifer is a PhD Student in the Graduate Program in Sociology at York University. Jennifer also teaches in the Department of Social Science within the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies. She completed her Master of Arts degree in Sociology in the Faculty of Graduate Studies at York University as well as her Specialized Honours Bachelor of Arts, Bilingual, in Sociology at Glendon College, York University.

Edward Branga, Tennis Professional
Edward has been a certified tennis instructor since 2019. As an active member of the tennis community, Edward joined the NYTC team in 2022 and has been involved with several other organizations such as the Ontario Tennis Association, ACE Tennis and Philpott Tennis. Before beginning to coach, Edward competed competitively and was a part of the Tennis Canada team.
During his time at the NYTC, Edward has taken on several roles in the areas of private instruction and court monitoring, as well as assisting with the house league program and socials.
Edward is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce Degree at Toronto Metropolitan University.
Axel Strom, Tennis Professional
Axel joins the NYTC team for the 2023 season as a Tennis Professional in the private instruction stream. Axel has been a tennis coach for 7 years and has been immersed in the world of tennis since he was 10 years old. As a past nationally Canadian ranked player, Axel has experienced the competitive side of the sport and now lives his passion through coaching others, both adults and juniors as a Tennis Canada certified coach.
Axel is also a Business Management Graduate of George Brown College and is currently working full time as an Accident Benefits Adjuster at Intact Insurance. Axel has experience with coaching individuals of all ages and is also a great hitting partner for members looking for hitting lessons! Axel looks forward to being a part of the NYTC community.
Jordan Talbot, Tennis Professional
Jordan joins the NYTC team for the 2023 season as a certified Tennis Canada Club Pro Level 1 instructor and part-time Tennis Professional at Mayfair Racquet and Fitness Club for the last 8 years. He represented Team Ontario at the national level throughout his junior career and consistently was ranked top 20 in Canada as a junior. Following his junior career, Jordan went on to play Division I tennis at the U.S. collegiate level for St. John’s University in New York, a top 100 ranked school, where he completed an undergraduate degree with honours. Jordan also represented Bermuda in Davis Cup action. While living abroad in New York, Jordan maintained tennis coaching at various levels including grassroots, high performance and recreational tennis. He continued his studies in New York with a post graduate Master’s Degree in Sport Management.
Upon returning to Canada in 2014, Jordan transitioned to a career in banking full-time, where he currently has been working with the Royal Bank of Canada for the last 8 years. While working his full-time career, Jordan’s passion for tennis continues to shine as he coaches both juniors and adults part-time.
Joseph Teti, Tennis Professional
Joseph has worked at the NYTC for several seasons, mainly through teaching private adult and junior lessons, as well as teaching the After-School Program. In the tennis community, Joseph has been involved through competitive play during his junior years and coaching for the last five years.
Joseph pursued his Tennis Canada certification in 2018 and then began teaching tennis at a number of community tennis clubs for the City of Toronto. Joseph competed at the provincial level, where he trained in the high-performance program at Mayfair Clubs and competed through his junior and senior years with Chaminade College School.
Joseph attended the Glendon College of York University, obtaining his Honours Bachelor of Arts, Bilingual, in International Business and Communications. Joseph also currently works at the City of Toronto with the Toronto Public Health unit.
